our third grade program
Art
Our Third Grade students have Art once a week for 55 minutes. The art curriculum provides students with the opportunity to experience a variety of media throughout the year. Lessons combine classroom theme studies with the elements and principles of design and art history. In conjunction with the Third Grade’s research workshop focus on Early American cultures, Native American traditional and contemporary arts are a focus this year. Each lesson is designed to teach new materials and methods and reinforce previously taught skills. Open-ended projects encourage students to experiment and explore.
