our fourth grade program
Art
Our Fourth Grade students have Art once a week for 55 minutes. The art curriculum provides students with the opportunity to experience a variety of media throughout the year. Lessons are developed with classroom theme studies in mind as well and cover the elements and principles of design. In conjunction with the Fourth Grade’s research workshop focus on local history and contributions of African Americans, African American artists are the inspiration for several lessons this year. Each lesson is designed to teach new materials and methods and reinforce previously taught skills. Open-ended projects are and students are encouraged to experiment and explore.
