Board of Trustees Mission

The St. Anne's School of Annapolis Board of Trustees exists to make decisions and take actions designed to underwrite the viability of this school's mission for our children and our children's children.

Don Santa, Chair
Don is president of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America and brings his leadership expertise to his position as Chair of the Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Karen, live in Edgewater with their children Madeline (Class of 2008) and Evan (2011).

Val Baker
Val is a senior contract specialist with the United States Census Bureau. She brings mediation and negotiation skills to the Board. She and her husband, Alex, live in Bowie with their children, Kyle (Class of 2006) and Kendall (2012).

Vanessa Biggs
Vanessa is a senior management and program analyst for the Internal Revenue Service. She brings research and data analysis skills to the Board. She and her husband, William, live in Bowie with their daughter, Morgan (Class of 2012).

Jamie DeMaria
Jamie DeMaria overseas global medical affairs for oncology and cardiovascular medicine at WebMD. With a background in international marketing, medical educational and sales training, Jamie brings a strong and diverse skill set to the Advancement Committee. Jamie and his wife, Haley, live in Annapolis, with James (Class of 2016) and Edward (2018).

Gregg Heacock
Dr. Gregg Heacock is a partner in the Annapolis ENT and Allergy Associates Group. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and is the past Chief of Otolaryngology at the Anne Arundel Medical Center. Gregg served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees from June 2003 to June 2005. Gregg is the parent of two St. Anne's School alumni, Elisa (Class of 2008) and Matt (2010).

Debbie Larsson
Debbie is a long standing member of the St. Anne's School community. Debbie served as Chair of the Board of Trustees from June 2005 to June 2008. Before serving as Chair, Debbie served as Development Committee Chair and on the steering committee for the Compass for the Future Campaign. Debbie is the parent of three St. Anne's School alumni, Evan (Class of 2007), Natalie (2010) and Katie (2010).

Frances C. Lukens, Head of School
Fran is the Head of St. Anne's School of Annapolis and has been committed to the school and its mission for over 20 years. As the Founding Head of School, Fran's vision, commitment and passion for the school's mission and its students, faculty and community has helped propel St. Anne's School to success and growth.

Maggie Margiotta Melson
Maggie Margiotta Melson serves as the Director of Special Projects at St. John’s College. She brings educational leadership, communications and fundraising experience to her role on the Advancement Committee. She is also an active member of St. Anne’s Parish where her husband, Vollie, serves on the Vestry.  They live in Annapolis.

James P. O'Hare
Jim is an attorney and partner at the McGuireWoods law firm. He brings his legal knowledge to the Board, is co-chair of the Compass for the Future Capital Campaign and a member of the Finance Committee. He and his wife, Rachel, live in Annapolis with their children, Maddie (Class of 2008), John (2011) and Charlotte (2014).

M. Margo Parker
Margo is a library technician at Anne Arundel Community College. She brings communication expertise to the Board and serves on the Diversity Committee. Margo and her husband, Warren, live in Glen Burnie and have two adult children, Warren and Hope.

Elaine Pavlick
Elaine is a sales specialist for Abraxis Bioscience. She brings her skills and experience in sales and marketing to the Board. She is the parent of Christie (Class of 2011) and Will (2015).

The Reverend Amy Richter
Amy is the Rector at St. Anne's Parish in Annapolis, the founding parish of St. Anne's School of Annapolis. Amy has a Masters of Theological Studies degree from Harvard Divinity School and a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Seminary. She will complete her Ph.D. this Fall. Amy is married to the Reverend Doctor Joe Pagano, the Rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Baltimore.

Wendy Thomas
Wendy, an independent marketing strategist serving the technology, healthcare and nonprofit sectors, joined the Board of Trustees at St. Anne’s School of Annapolis in 2011. Serving as the Advancement Chair, she brings her leadership, marketing/communication and organizational skills to the Board.  Wendy and her husband, Bill, live in Annapolis with Ben (Class of 2016) and Matthew (2018).
